The motion passed.

Mr. Davis spoke on behalf of Blue Valley Community Action.  He stated that the store has been moved inside the clinic.  They want the 15-minute parking space so that people who bring donations will have it available and they want the handicapped ramp painted red because people are using the sidewalk were it is cut out for handicapped accessibility for parking.

Kuzelka made the motion to recommend it to City Council.  Byrd seconded the motion.  By roll call, the vote was: 3 - "yes" (Byrd, Kuzelka and Lueders) / 0 - "no". The motion passed.

5.     Next was the Discussion and Consideration of the request of Blue Valley Community Action – 620 5th Street – to paint the curb cut red as a “no parking” area.

Mr. Davis spoke on behalf of Blue Valley Community Action.  He stated that the ramp is at the same location as the requested 15-minute parking space just two stalls down from it.  He notes that the sidewalk is already cutout for handicap accessibility and they just want it painted red to prevent people from parking in it.  Lueders asks if it will affect others in the area or just people coming to the store.  Davis states that it is people coming to the store that are parking in it and notes that they have ample parking along with a handicap space to the north of the ramp.  Kuzelka asks if there is a handicap sign on the handicap space.  To which Davis responds that he does not believe there is but the curb is painted blue and the handicap symbol is painted in the stall.  Kuzelka asks if they don’t want any parking on the ramp and Davis responds that they do not, so that the wheelchairs can use it.  Kuzelka asks if just painting it will stop people from parking there.  Byrd states that he believes they need a sign.  Lueders notes that they do not have a recommendation for a sign on the agenda and suggest they paint the curb as requested and see if that deters parking.  If necessary they can come back and request a sign later.

Kuzelka made the motion to recommend it to City Council.  Byrd seconded the motion.  By roll call, the vote was: 3 - "yes" (Byrd, Kuzelka and Lueders) / 0 - "no". The motion passed.

7.   With no further discussion, member Kuzelka made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Member Byrd seconded the motion. By roll call, the vote was: 3 - "yes" (Byrd, Kuzelka and Lueders) / 0 - "no". The motion passed. Member Lueders declared the meeting adjourned.
