CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA              

 

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2010, 7:30 p.m.

 

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

 


 

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

2.      Roll Call

 

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

 

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of August 17, 2010.

2.      Approval of claims.

 

D.    PUBLIC HEARINGS 

1.      Budget Hearing and Budget Summary for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year.

2.      Public Hearing concerning setting of the final tax request for the 2010-2011

Fiscal Year at $509,427.00 for the General Fund and $252,748.00 for the Bond Fund. 

3.      Public Hearing concerning LB840 funds for a “Performance Based Grant” in the amount

of $20,000.00 for the “Sweet Creations” project.                

 

E.      CURRENT BUSINESS

1.      Consider 2010-2011 Fiscal Year Budget.

2.      Presentation by Blobaum & Busboom P.C. of the City of Fairbury Enterprise Funds Financial Statements and Schedules.

3.      Consider City purchasing property located at 415 West 8th Street.

4.      Consideration of the distribution of $10,000.00 of funding to “Discs N Dat” project.

 

F.     RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES

 

1.      Resolution No. 788 setting the 2010-2011 property tax request at $509,427.00 for the General Fund and $252,748.00 for the Bond Fund.

2.      Resolution No. 789 obligating LB840 Funds to “Sweet Creations” for a “Performance Based Grant” in the amount of $20,000.00.
