CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of April 21, 2009.

2.      Approval of claims.

3.      Approval of the resignation of Richard Lautenschlager from the Museum Board.

4.      Approval of the resignation of Darlene Frederick from the Museum Board.

D.    PUBLIC HEARINGS

1.      Public Hearing concerning a Request for Special Use Permit (SU-2009-01) from Holly Troxel for a home occupation (photography studio) at the residence located at 921 22^nd Street.

2.      Public Hearing concerning the Proprietary Budget and Budget Summary for the City of Fairbury Utilities for May 1, 2009 to April 30, 2010.

3.      Public Hearing concerning the Final Application for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

E.     CURRENT BUSINESS

1.      Consideration of the Proprietary Budget for the City of Fairbury Utilities for May 1, 2009 to April 30, 2010.

2.      Consideration of request from the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce for permission to barricade the downtown streets around the square for various activities and from 5^th to 6^th on E Street continuing to 6^th from E to D Streets until parade at 4:00 p.m. for the Free Miniature Train Rides and blocking off downtown area streets: 4^th Street from J Street west to G Street; I and H from 3^rd to 4^th Streets; G Streets from 3^rd to 5^th Streets  for the parade route for Wild West Weekend on June 6, 2009 and then once the parade begins the entire route traffic flow would cease.

3.      Consideration of an application for a Special Designated Liquor License for Fairbury Chamber of Commerce for a chili cook off/dance/beer garden June 6, 2009 for Wild West Weekend from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. in the Riverside Chevrolet car lot at  4^{th &} F Streets.

4.      Consideration of Interlocal Agreement and K-9 Agreement between the City of Fairbury, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Jefferson County.

5.      Consideration of FEMA SCBA Grant.

6.      Presentation by Fire Chief Eric Voss of the 2008 Fire Department Annual Report.

7.      Consideration of transferring $1,000.00 from the Keno Fund to the General Fund as well as transferring the same $1,000.00 from the General Fund to the Community Building Fund for the purchasing of table and chairs.

8.   Consideration of purchasing residence located at 921 G Street.

F.     RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES

1.      Resolution No. 722 authorizing the Mayor to sign application documents for Nebraska Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Neighborhood Stabilization Program
