CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 15, 2008, 7:30 p.m.

 

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

 


 

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

2.      Roll Call

 

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

 

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of April 1, 2008.

2.      Approval of claims.

3.      Approval of the March 2008 Reconciliation Report.

4.      Approval of appointment of Alan Bush to the Citizens Advisory Review Committee.

5.      Approval of appointment of Darcy Brown to the Citizens Advisory Review Committee.

 

D.    PUBLIC HEARINGS

1.      Set Public Hearing concerning Mike Schlick property at 806 Maple Street.

2.      Set Public Hearing concerning Siebert Communications Inc. project for LB840 funds.

3.      Set Public Hearing concerning Fairbury Cycles project for LB840 funds.

 

E.     CURRENT BUSINESS

1.      Request from Sheri Hinman from Central School to have the park be closed off on Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a walk-a-thon.

2.      Presentation concerning the Fairbury Youth Involvement (FYI) Center on continuation of the D.A.R.E. program by the City.

3.      Consideration of the recommendation from the Public Safety Committee on the police vehicle for fire department use.

4.      Consideration of the recommendation from the Public Safety Committee on the range master for gun range.

5.      Discussion and approval of purchasing a mosquito mister for the Street Department.

6.      The Fairbury Chamber of Commerce is requesting blocking off downtown area streets for the parade route for Wild West Weekend on June 7, 2008.

 


 

 

F.     RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES

1.      Resolution No. 684 levying and assessing various fees and charges for usage of the municipal swimming pool and amending Resolution 635 in regards to municipal swimming pool fees.

2.      Second Reading  Ordinance No. 2973:  An ordinance to add Section 71.77 regarding All-Terrain Vehicles to the Fairbury City Code; to repeal all other conflicting ordinances or parts of ordinances; to provide for publication in pamphlet form and for an effective date of this ordinance.

3.      Ordinance No. 2974: An ordinance to amend Sections 150.50 and 150.51 of the Fairbury City Code; to adopt the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) 2006 edition, published by the International Code Council with amendments; to repeal sections, 150.52, 150.53, 150.54, and 150.55 the Fairbury City Code and all other  conflicting ordinances or parts of ordinances; and to provide for publication in pamphlet form and for an effective date of this ordinance.
