CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA

 

TUESDAY, MARCH 18, 2008, 7:30 p.m.

 

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

 


 

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

2.      Roll Call

 

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

 

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of March 4, 2008.

2.      Approval of the minutes of the special meeting of March 11, 2008.

3.      Approval of claims.

4.      Approval of the February 2008 Reconciliation Report.

 

D.    CURRENT BUSINESS

1.      Discussion of housing inspection plan, based on the International Property Maintenance Code.  Information provided on the City of Beatrice program.

2.      Discussion of (2) fifteen minute parking spaces for Globe Rexall – one at 424 E Street and the other at 5th & E Street.

3.      Selection of city engineer.

4.      Permission for Mayor to sign the 2008 – 2010 Renewal for the Keno License.

5.      Consideration of authorizing Mayor Fry to sign Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) contract between the State of Nebraska Economic Development and the City of Fairbury for purchase of a fire truck.

6.      Consideration of a contract with Southeast Nebraska Development District (SENDD) for grant administration services for the fire truck CDBG.

7.      Consideration of a request from MH & Body for a curb cut at 619 5th Street.

8.      Discussion of Police Vehicle Replacement.


 

 

E.     RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES

1.      First Reading  Ordinance No. 2973:  An ordinance to add Section 71.77 to the Fairbury City Code; to repeal all other conflicting ordinances or parts of ordinances; to provide for publication in pamphlet form and for an effective date of this ordinance.

2.      First Reading  Ordinance No. 2974:  An ordinance to add Section 35.18 to the Fairbury City Code; to repeal all other conflicting ordinances or parts of ordinances; to provide for publication in pamphlet form and for an effective date of this ordinance.
