CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA              

 

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2009, 7:30 p.m.

 

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

 


 

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

2.      Roll Call

 

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

 

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of January 20, 2009.

2.      Approval of claims.

3.      Approval of the resignation of Jamie Swanda from the Citizens Advisory Review Committee.

4.      Approval of the appointment of Jolie Parker to the Museum Board, term to expire

July 2009.

 

D.    PUBLIC HEARINGS

1.      Public Hearing for the semi-annual review of the Local Option Sales Tax for Economic Development (LB840) Program.

2.      Set Public Hearing concerning the nuisance property owned by Gerald Bundy, located at 319 A Street, Fairbury, Nebraska.

3.      Set Public Hearing concerning the nuisance property owned by Paula Henry, located at 314 West 3rd Street, Fairbury, Nebraska.

4.      Continue Public Hearing on 1 & 6 Year Street Improvement Plan for 2009 – 2014 to

February 17, 2009.

 

 

E.     CURRENT BUSINESS

1.      Request for approval to set City-Wide Cleanup for April 20 – 24, 2009.

 

  

 

F.     RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES

1.  Resolution No. 713 authorizing the Street Superintendent to install a No Parking Here to Corner sign at 1301 B Street in front of the Step Ahead School.     

     2.   Resolution No. 714 appointing Michael Beachler to serve as director to represent the     City of Fairbury on the Board of Directors of the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska      (MEAN) for a term of three years and to be a representative to the MEAN      Management  Committee.

3.  Second Reading: Ordinance No. 2980: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF FAIRBURY MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 92.21 – ABATEMENT PROCEDURE FOR  NUISANCES.
