CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA

 

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2008, 7:30 p.m.

 

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

 


 

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

2.      Roll Call

 

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

 

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of February 5, 2008.

2.      Approval of the minutes of the special meeting of February 13, 2008.

3.      Approval of claims.

4.      Approval of the January 2008 Reconciliation Report.

 

D.    PUBLIC HEARINGS

1.      Public Hearing concerning a Request for Special Use Permit (SUA-2007-005) from Nathan Francis for a home occupation (taxidermy) at the residence located at 2505 H Street.

2.      Public Hearing concerning the City of Fairbury, Nebraska 1 & 6 Year Street Improvement Plan for 2008-2013.

3.      Public Hearing concerning LB840 funding for paving 24th Street and Industrial Drive.

 

E.     CURRENT BUSINESS

1.     Presentation by John Trouba of SENDD on the re-evaluation of the 2004 Fairbury Community Needs Assessment Study.

2.   Consideration of an agreement with Butler County Landfill for Transfer Station waste disposal services.

3.      Consideration of 2008 agreement with the Department of the Air Force for airplane on display at the Fairbury Airport.

4.      Consideration and approval of the Police Department Standard Operating Procedures for the Reserve Program.

5.      Consideration and approval of the Police Department Standard Operating Procedures for Electronic Control Devices.

6.      Presentation by Fire Chief Eric Voss of the 2007 Fire Department Annual Report.

 

F.     RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES

1.      Resolution No. 680 approving the 2008 & 2013 One & Six Year Street Improvement Plan.

2.      Resolution No. 681 approving LB840 funding to pave 24th Street and Industrial Drive.

3.      Second Reading  Ordinance No. 2972:  AN ORDINANCE TO ADD DIVISION ENTITLED “TELECOMMUNICATION OCCUPATION TAX” AND SECTIONS 110.08, 110.09, 110.10, 110.11, 110.12, 110.13, 110.14, and 110.15 OF THE FAIRBURY CITY CODE, TO REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND TO PROVIDE FOR PUBLICATION IN PAMPHLET FORM AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE
