CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA              

 

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2009, 7:30 p.m.

 

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

 


 

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

2.      Roll Call

 

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

 

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of November 17, 2009.

2.      Approval of claims.

3.      Consider resignation of Ron Byrd from City Council Ward 2 seat.

4.      Approval of the appointment of Mary Mach to the Planning Commission; term to expire September 2011.

 

D.    CURRENT BUSINESS

1.      Consideration of recommendations from the Economic Development Review Committee (LB840) for “The Country Cottage” project ($10,000 Performance Based Grant) and set a public hearing. 

2.      Consideration of recommendations from the CDBG-Economic Development Loan Fund Review Committee for “The Country Cottage” project ($10,000 Reuse Loan) and set a public hearing. 

3.      Consideration of recommendations from the Economic Development Review Committee (LB840) for the “Choice Communications, Inc.” project ($40,000 Performance Based Grant) and set a public hearing. 

4.      Consideration of Police Vehicle.

5.      Consideration of authorizing Mayor Ward to sign the Lease & Easement Agreement made between Richard M. & Elva M. Smith and the City of Fairbury for the placement of a City Museum sign.

  

E.     RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES

1.      Resolution No. 752 authorizing the City to levy special assessments against certain

properties for nuisance abatements.
