CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA              

 

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2009, 7:30 p.m.

 

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

 


 

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

2.      Roll Call

 

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

 

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of September 15, 2009.

2.      Approval of claims.

3.      Approval of the re-appointment of Greg Koerwitz to the Planning Commission; term to expire September 2012.

 

D.    PUBLIC HEARINGS

1.      Set Public Hearing concerning two applications to the Department of Economic Development for a 2008 Disaster Recovery Program Community Development Block Grant. (Set for 10-20-09)

2.      Set Public Hearing concerning a request for Special Use Permit (SU-2009-05) from Gregory Hergott for an apartment located at 306 E Street, General Commercial Zone.

(Set for 10-20-2009)

  

E.     CURRENT BUSINESS

1.      Consideration of request from the Fairbury Area Girls Hoops organization to use the Community Building for the 2009-2010 season.

2.      Consideration of authorizing Mayor Ward to sign the contract between the State of Nebraska, Department of Economic Development and the City of Fairbury for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) ~ Contract No. 095ND32.

3.      Consideration of authorizing Mayor Ward to sign the release of lien for nuisance property located at 721 G Street; legally described as the North 44½’ of Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, Original Town of Fairbury, Jefferson County, Nebraska. 

4.      Consideration of authorizing Mayor Ward to sign the Real Estate Purchase Agreement made and entered into by Roode Feedlot, Inc. and the City of Fairbury, Nebraska, acting by and through its Board of Public Works. 

5.      Consideration of correspondence from Nebraska Department of Economic Development and authorizing Mayor Ward to send a response letter and documentation stating the CDBG Reuse Fund is active.

6.      Consideration of purchasing police vehicle.

7.      Discuss pending litigation.
